The former is 3kg worse off with the latter and may have to settle for the second cheque this time. The Piet and Elbert Steyn duo of VULCAN ROCK and LAVA STRIKE both should prefer the distance and could be in the hunt. The two first-timers UNCLE SAM and IT'SGOOD IT'SNICE are well bred and need to be watched as well.
