Après avoir ''débuté/gagné'' facilement en plat, Larzac du Mathan va tenter de faire aussi bien, à l'occasion de ses débuts en haies dans ce tournoi, même s'il devra craindre en priorité les candidatures conjointes des deux élèves de François Nicolle alignés au départ, à savoir Kapyrhon, nouveau venu à la compétition, et Sol and River, assurément perfectible, au vu de la bonne 2ème place acquise lors de ses débuts sur les ''balais'', à Royan-La Palmyre, sans oublier celle de l'un des autres inédits de la course, Shelby d'Oroux, qui n'est pas incapable de se révéler pleinement d'entrée de jeu.
