Our tips

Cette deuxième journée du meeting d’obstacle débute par l’important Prix Jean Gailly de Taurines, première préparatoire au prochain Grand Prix de la Ville de Nice (Groupe III). S’il a été battu dans la belle en janvier, Le Roi David avait parfaitement réussi son début d’hiver 2024-2025, en gagnant cette épreuve et en doublant la mise dans le « Comté de Nice ». Deuxième pour sa rentrée en plat, cet automne, avant de triompher dans le Prix Claude Le Lorrain (Listed), le cheval a ensuite montré ses limites face aux meilleurs mais il faut clairement le reprendre en confiance ce mercredi, pour son retour sur la Riviera.
Le succès pourrait être total pour l’écurie de Mickaël Seror, qui présente également Jost, un peu en-dessous des meilleurs à Auteuil mais très titré et avantagé par le très probable assouplissement du terrain. C’est une première à Cagnes, difficile de savoir comment il va s’y comporter mais au papier strict, on a là un sérieux candidat aux premières places. Excellent l’hiver dernier, en remportant la Grande Course de Haies en fin de meeting, Ange Pitou débute sa campagne 2025/2026 sur le steeple mais cela ne va pas le déranger, attention à lui sur cette plus profonde. Enfin, gardons une place pour Illaho, qui avait dévoilé une réelle aptitude au tracé l’an dernier, gagnant par deux fois avant d’être troisième du « Christian de l’Hermite ». Il fera face aux « vieux » ici mais sur sa fraicheur, un accessit est envisageable.
