Junko a le défaut d’être hongre, tout le programme français ne lui est pas ouvert, mais c’est un cheval de grande qualité, qui est souvent tombé sur des lots de premiers plans l’an dernier. Il aura également l’avantage d’être confirmé sur le sable. C’est une rentrée et sans doute pas l’objectif, comme tous ses adversaires, mais c’est très tentant de lui faire confiance dès ce samedi.
Deuxième du « Hong-Kong Vase « (Groupe I) au mois de décembre, l’excellent Botanik s’annonce comme un sérieux rival pour notre favori, même s’il n’a jamais été vu sur cette surface. Lauréat de deux Groupe III et d’une listed l’an dernier, Monty a réalisé une belle saison 2022 et démarre donc sa campagne 2023 dans cette épreuve, avec des ambitions de victoire limitées par la présence des pensionnaires d’André Fabre mais avec l’idée de compléter le podium. Derrière ce trio qui se détache nettement, Wallem fera de son mieux pour compléter le Ze4-ordre, voire un peu mieux en cas de grosses défaillances.
